Linux Systems Admin Killeen, TX – Onsite 5 days per week Full-Time/Direct Hire Salary: $90k, depending on experience Position Summary The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of Linux-based systems and related infrastructure. This role ensures system reliability, security, and performance while supporting modern DevOps practices, including containerization, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, is self-driven, and can independently research and resolve complex issues while effectively communicating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat systems and associated infrastructure Support system upgrades, patching schedules, and ongoing maintenance activities Ensure compliance with security standards, system hardening practices, and company policies Monitor system performance and availability using logging and monitoring tools Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and infrastructure issues across Linux, Windows, and web environments Administer and support containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker) Assist in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible Collaborate with development and operations teams to support deployment and system integration efforts Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures Manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in systems administration and Red Hat Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience) Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration and Windows (required) Technical Skills Operating Systems: Linux (Red Hat), Windows Containerization: OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker DevOps & CI/CD: Git, CI/CD pipelines, automation practices Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk Security: Web application security fundamentals, vulnerability awareness, patch management, and system hardening Certifications (Preferred) RHCSA or RHCE MCSE CKA or CKAD OpenShift Certification
