Job SummaryWe are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Cashier to join our retail team.The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.This role is vital in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers while accurately managing sales and inventory.Prior experience in retail sales or grocery stores, along with strong communication skills, is preferred to succeed in this position.Duties Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries, including product demos when applicable Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, and upselling opportunities to maximize sales Ensure shelves are well-stocked and merchandise is displayed attractively through merchandising and stocking activities Monitor customer age verification for alcohol sales in compliance with legal regulations Enforce store policies regarding responsible alcohol sales and phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone Assist in supervising store operations as needed, including supervising experience or training staff members Perform basic retail math to ensure accurate cash register balances and daily reports Support inventory management by organizing stock and assisting with product replenishment Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash cashiering experience Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively Experience in supervising or leading team members is desirable Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances sales performance Good phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries professionally Upselling techniques to promote products and increase store revenue Familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial for understanding retail environments Basic math skills for balancing registers and managing cash handling responsibilities This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your retail skills while providing exceptional service to our valued customers.Job Type:Part-time Pay:$16.00 per hour Benefits:Flexible schedule Work Location:In person.
