Job Description
Legal Expert – Litigation (AI Research Project, Remote) Contract Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote (US, UK, Canada) Compensation: $85–$120 per hour Role Overview We are seeking Litigation Professionals to contribute to a cutting-edge AI research initiative focused on advancing legal reasoning in next-generation AI systems. In this role, you will use your real-world litigation experience to design complex legal scenarios, evaluate AI-generated outputs, and help improve how AI understands civil litigation, motions, discovery, and trial strategy. Key Responsibilities Design realistic litigation scenarios (motions, discovery, depositions, briefs, case strategy) Develop high-quality “gold standard” legal responses Evaluate AI outputs using structured legal rubrics Provide detailed written feedback to improve model performance Participate in onboarding and calibration sessions Ideal Candidate Profile 1–4 years of experience in civil litigation Background in law firms, in-house legal teams, or government agencies Strong legal writing and analytical skills High attention to detail and structured thinking Qualifications J.D. (US/Canada) or LL.B./LL.M. (UK) from an accredited institution Licensed to practice law (active or inactive) in the US, UK, or Canada Preferred Experience E-discovery tools (e.g., Relativity, document review workflows) Trial or appellate litigation experience Familiarity with legal case management systems Project Details Minimum 20 hours per week (40+ preferred) Immediate start with rolling applications Fully remote (must be based in US, UK, or Canada) Long-term potential based on performance Contract & Payment Terms Independent contractor engagement Flexible working hours Project scope may evolve based on performance No access to confidential third-party data required Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise Visa sponsorship is not available
