As a Driver Manager/Load Planner you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing daily trucking operations. This position requires a proactive leader who ensures efficient load planning, driver performance, and customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. Essential Job Functions: Driver Management & Communication Serve as the primary contact for drivers, providing load assignments, performance feedback, and company updates. Ensure drivers fully understand customer requirements and company expectations. Monitor and manage driver availability, compliance with Hours of Service (HOS), and performance metrics. Lead and retain a designated fleet of regional drivers, fostering strong relationships to enhance productivity. Conduct corrective actions when necessary. Load Planning & Fleet Coordination Coordinate daily load assignments to optimize efficiency and on-time performance. Work closely with other departments to secure loads for the fleet and ensure smooth dispatch operations. Manage routing to minimize out-of-route miles and optimize fuel efficiency. Maintain real-time visibility of fleet movements using GPS and dispatch software. Perform A.M. and P.M. checks to update Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and Projected Time Available (PTA) for trucks. Operational Oversight & Problem Solving Respond promptly to driver concerns, such as delays, breakdowns, or compliance issues. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely servicing of trucks. Monitor and enforce company policies, safety standards, and DOT regulations. Ensure a service level of 98% for on-time pickups and deliveries. Manage accuracy of information for assigned drivers. Qualifications & Skills: Experience: 1+ years of tanker dispatch experience preferred. Technical Skills: High level of accuracy entering and updating detailed information. AS400 Innovative system knowledge preferred. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Organization: Detail-oriented with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and dispatch tracking systems. Leadership: Ability to manage and motivate drivers effectively under pressure. Work Environment & Schedule: Full-time, daytime shift (10-hour shifts may apply). Office-based role with frequent phone and computer use.
