Job Description
Licensed Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant Chicago, IL | Hybrid/In-Office Preferred We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and licensed Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to help support and scale a high-producing mortgage team currently on pace to close $49 Million in 2026 , with a strategic growth plan to reach $100 Million annually within the next 3 years . This is not a standard assistant role. We are looking for a strong operational partner who can execute consistently, manage lead flow, support clients and referral partners, and help create an exceptional client experience while allowing the Loan Officer to focus on rainmaking activities, closings, relationship building, and business growth. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, solutions-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Manage daily lead flow, follow-up systems, and client communication Conduct first-touch calls with clients and review loan applications Issue pre-approvals and updated loan scenarios Communicate consistently with clients, real estate agents, referral partners, and internal team members Send credit improvement plans and assist with lead nurturing and follow-up strategies Oversee pipeline communication and help ensure files move efficiently through the process Assist with FHA, VA, Conventional, Renovation, and Down Payment Assistance loan structuring Review documentation and identify potential issues early Ensure agents and referral partners feel included, updated, and valued throughout the transaction Help manage and support approximately 10–20 agents and their lead flow Assist with CRM organization, automation ideas, and lead management improvements Help create a high-level client experience while maintaining efficiency and production goals Qualifications Active Mortgage Loan Originator license preferred Minimum 3+ years mortgage industry experience preferred Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Renovation, and DPA guidelines Experience with Encompass or similar LOS systems Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Must be proactive, detail-focused, and solutions-oriented Ability to execute without constant supervision CRM and lead management experience preferred Strong customer service and relationship-building skills About Our Business Model We are a strong community-focused lending team serving first-time homebuyers, underserved communities, renovation borrowers, and clients who may need strategic guidance to become mortgage ready.
