About the Firm Hanover Capital NY is a privately held balance sheet lender focused on originating and servicing first-lien commercial real estate loans across the Tri-State area and select major U.S. markets. Since actively scaling in early 2024, the firm has closed approximately $150 million over the past 12 months, with an additional $180 million currently in the pipeline. The platform is built around speed, execution certainty, and disciplined credit. We operate with a lean, high-performance team where each individual has direct exposure to live transactions, borrowers, and capital partners. Position Overview This role sits at the center of the platform, working directly across originations, borrowers, and capital partners to manage the full loan lifecycle from closing through payoff. You will be responsible for ensuring transactions are executed with precision while maintaining control over an active and growing loan portfolio. This is not a passive servicing role. It requires ownership, responsiveness, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving, transaction-driven environment. Core Responsibilities Loan Execution & Servicing Own servicing of an active portfolio of commercial real estate loans from post-close through payoff Serve as a primary point of contact for borrowers, managing communication with clarity and control Lead payoff processes, including drafting payoff letters and coordinating with counsel and counterparties Drive closing coordination, ensuring all borrower deliverables, third-party reports, and approvals are completed efficiently Maintain accurate loan records, including payment tracking, distributions, and servicing updates Portfolio Management & Compliance Monitor real estate taxes, insurance coverage, and ongoing loan compliance across the portfolio Track critical loan dates including maturities, extensions, reserve requirements, and key covenants Coordinate documentation and ensure all agreements are properly executed and maintained Investor & Internal Coordination Support investor communications and reporting with accurate and timely information Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including attorneys, leverage providers, and third-party vendors Manage data requests and maintain organized, audit-ready loan files Candidate Profile 2–5+ years of experience in commercial real estate lending, loan servicing, or related financial operations Strong understanding of loan structures, closings, and servicing mechanics Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple active transactions simultaneously Clear communicator comfortable interfacing with borrowers, attorneys, and capital partners Self-directed and accountable, with the ability to operate without constant oversight Proficiency in Excel and loan servicing systems (The Mortgage Office or similar) Compensation Competitive base salary with discretionary bonus, based on experience and performance.
