Job Description
Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., a leader in electrical construction services and engineering across power, telecom, and transportation markets, is seeking a dependable Truck Driver to support our Transportation & Logistics operations within the construction industry. In this role, you will safely operate company trucks and related equipment to transport materials, tools, and electrical components to and from construction sites, yards, and warehouses, helping our field crews deliver high‑quality electrical construction and maintenance services on time. The Truck Driver will load, secure, and unload electrical materials, conduit, cable reels, transformers, tools, and related construction equipment using proper rigging and material‑handling techniques, while following all DOT, company, and site‑specific safety requirements. You will conduct thorough pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip vehicle inspections, document and report any mechanical or safety issues, and coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure trucks remain in safe, reliable operating condition. Accurate completion of driver logs, delivery tickets, inspection reports, and other required documentation will be an important part of your daily work. Working closely with our Transportation & Logistics and field construction teams, you will plan efficient delivery routes, adjust to changing project priorities, and communicate clearly with dispatch, foremen, and warehouse staff to keep projects supplied. You may assist with basic material staging, inventory checks, and organizing loads for upcoming jobs. Because our work is often performed on active construction and utility sites, you will be expected to follow all traffic control plans, company safety policies, and customer requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment and participation in safety meetings and tailboards. Sturgeon Electric fosters a collaborative, teamwork‑driven environment with a deep commitment to safety and client satisfaction, and the Truck Driver plays a direct role in supporting our crews and customers. Candidates should be comfortable driving and maneuvering trucks in tight or congested construction areas, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and occasionally performing physical work such as lifting, securing loads, and assisting with basic jobsite or yard tasks as needed. The Truck Driver role supports our current and ongoing electrical construction opportunities by ensuring timely, safe delivery of materials critical to installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance services across multiple projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate reliable attendance, strong communication skills, adherence to all DOT and company policies, and a willingness to support other logistics and yard functions to keep operations running smoothly.
