Locum NP/PA - Cardiac Surgery & CTICU Critical Care (No Call | 6-Month Assignment | NJ We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide Cardiac Surgery and CTICU Coverage at a high-acuity medical Center in Northern New Jersey. This is a 6-month locum opportunity starting July 1st, ideal for providers with strong cardiac ICU experience. Join a collaborative team of APPs and unit staff in delivering critical post-op care for complex surgical patients. Enjoy a flexible weekday schedule with no on-call duties. Assignment Details: Patient Volume: 4-6 Patients/Day Schedule: 12.5 hour shifts (6:00 AM - 7:30 PM), 3-4 days/week Duties Include: ICU rounds daily progress notes, discharge planning Writing orders and discharge summaries Procedures: Removal of chest tubes and epicardial pacing wires, brachial arterial lines (4-6 per week) Potential for central line and arterial line insertions (if credentialed/competent) Qualifications: Active NP (ACNP Preferred) or PA license in NJ Minimum 2 years of cardiac or CT surgical ICU experience Proficient in post-operative management of cardiothoracic patients Comfortable with procedures noted above Current BLS and ACLS certification EPIC EMR experience preferred Position Highlights: No call coverage Work alongside a team of experienced APPs and ICU staff High-level exposure to advanced cardiac surgery cases Malpractice, travel, and lodging covered Competitive locum compensation Interested: Apply today to secure your spot for this summer start!
