Nurse Practitioner | Neonatal Location: Portland, ME Employer: Alumni Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Specialty Neonatology State ME Location 22 Bramhall St, Portland, ME Requirements Maine Medical Center is looking for a Neonatal NP for locum coverage ASAC! Job Details: The APP will provide detailed and comprehensive assessment and treatment of neonatal patients within the framework of safe patient- and family-centered care. The scope of practice includes developing and documenting plans of care in collaboration with families multidisciplinary team members and community resources for both chronic and episodic illnesses. The APP must be NRP certified and will attend high-risk deliveries. The APP should be proficient in neonatal resuscitation and common neonatal procedures including intubation lumbar puncture venipuncture arterial puncture umbilical line placement thoracentesis and thoracostomy. The APP should be comfortable with X-ray and laboratory interpretation as well as the foundational principles of ordering total parenteral nutrition. Practice size: Nine neonatologists and four pediatricians who serve as neonatal hospitalists covering the step-down nursery. Facility has pediatric and med/peds residents present most days. Patient census per day/per provider: Approximately 8-10 patients per day in the NICU and 10-12 patients per day in the step-down nursery. Patient demographic: Neonates Number of admissions per day/per shift: Approximately 950 admissions per year Number of beds: 31 NICU beds and 20 step-down beds. The unit often exceeds census and utilizes satellite beds in other areas of the hospital Number of ICU beds: 51 total beds. Schedule: Inpatient 12 hour shifts days and/or nights – all days of the week/varied schedule. Some weekends required. If scheduled for nights coverage will be with a neonatologist and a second APP. Initial 9 month contract start ASAC No call coverage Travel Requirements: Flight - No first-class flights.Hotel - 200/night lodging cap after taxes and feesRental Car - Standard rental car no premium/SUV etc. rentals.Mileage Billed at the IRS Standard Rate Bill Rate Needed for must be included in the ratesOrientationHourly 190 rate cap Holiday HourlyOvertime after 12 hours are worked per shiftHoliday OvertimeConversion fee 15k rate cap Schedule Days, Twelve-hour shifts, days and/or nights.
