Nurse Practitioner | Nurse Practitioner Location: Virginia Employer: Delta Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Updated Shifts: July 22-26 nights Aug 6-11 days Aug 19-26 nights Updated information They include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist the trauma surgeon in the initial evaluation and management of the injured patient according to the ATLS protocol Assist the surgeon in the initial evaluation and management of acute care surgery consultations in the Emergency Department or in the hospital Perform as first assistant to the trauma or acute care surgeon in the operating room (RNFA certification generally required for NPs) Assist the trauma and acute care surgeon with the evaluation and management of the injured or acutely ill patients throughout their hospital stay, including in the intensive care unit Perform bedside procedures (e.g. suturing, thoracostomy tube insertion and removal, arterial line placement, central line placement, etc.) if credentialed by the hospital to do so Perform daily rounds on patients admitted to the trauma or acute care surgery service or being followed by the trauma or acute care surgery services Perform tertiary surveys on injured patients admitted to the trauma surgery service Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic and radiographic studies as needed Order medication and treatments as needed Communicate with consultants as needed according to hospital protocols Communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team, allied health providers and nursing staff to ensure optimal outcomes for patients Work with case managers and social workers to arrange appropriate discharge plans Assist in the evaluation and management of patients in clinic Assist in ensuring appropriate documentation and billing is complete according to the company policy Additional Details : No set rates Pay Rate: Bill Rate: Target $200/hr Name Clear Process: name clear through Jamie if worked with Extant prior Sub Process : Submit to Jamie Unique/Credentialing Client Requirements : None Client History- Success and Obstacles : New Client EMR: Meditech Client Requirements: ATLS – Must be licensed. Central Virginia's busiest adult and pediatric ER (96k annual volume) Recently completed ED expansion includes additional trauma bays (4 total) Two trauma surgeons per day and night surgeon in-house Trauma designated OR's (17 total ORs) Trauma service covers acute care surgery High volume trauma (90% blunt and 10% penetrating); Avg 1900 activations per year Approx 1800 admissions per year 32 bed Medical Surgical Trauma ICU (MSTICU) and 10 bed Trauma Stepdown unit Travel Accommodations: Will pay all travel Reason For Coverage : Temp coverage Required Availability 7-7 shifts am/pm, prefer 4-7 day consecutive stents Coverage need to increase Credentialing Timeframe : 45-60 days Job Details : Setting: Emergency Room - Level I (State of VA) & ACS Level II Patient Volume: Variable. Annual number of visits in 2023: 96k Procedures: Standard ER work - Even mix of peds, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
