Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Alton, IL Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: 3 days x 12 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Alton, IL Service Setting: Emergency Department Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 03/01/2026 – Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a – 6p and 6p– 6a; 12hr shifts COVERAGE DATES March 1, 2026 – ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult and pediatric population Patient Volume/Census: 25,000 annual ED volume Admissions: Yes Case Mix: Full-spectrum emergency medicine, including pediatrics and stroke care FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 16-bed ED with telemetry monitoring Office Equipment Available: Telemetry monitoring Specialty Backup Available: State-approved pediatrics; Certified Stroke Center Support Staff Available: 14 hours daily NP/PA support PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Full-spectrum emergency medicine procedures Pediatric emergency care Stroke management in accordance with Certified Stroke Center guidelines JOB REQUIREMENTS • Active Illinois License BC/BE; ABEM preferred DEA required CSL required BLS, ACLS, PALS, certifications Other Qualifications: recent ED experience, comfort with treating alll ages, Experience in stroke response DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency medical services to adult and pediatric patients Manage patient care in a 16-bed emergency department Deliver 24-hour physician coverage in assigned shifts Work collaboratively with NP/PA support staff Ensure adherence to standards required for state-approved pediatrics and Certified Stroke Center
