Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Fort Wayne, IN Employer: Rhino Medical Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Fort Wayne, Indiana Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Level II Trauma Center • 36K Volume • High Shift Availability • Long-Term Need Rhino Medical is leading the charge actively seeking Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians (ABEM/AOBEM) for a high-volume, long-term locum tenens opportunity in Fort Wayne, Indiana . This is a busy, well-supported emergency department within a Level II Trauma Center , offering a wide range of shift options, strong specialty backup, and consistent monthly scheduling. Indiana licensed physicians only will be considered. Opportunity Snapshot Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana Contract Type: Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP – Ongoing (6+ Months) Schedule: 20+ shifts per month available across sites Minimum Commitment: 4+ shifts/month required EMR: Cerner Facility Overview Regional tertiary care hospital 396 hospital beds 44 ED beds 36,000 annual ED visits Level II Trauma Center ~1.6 patients per hour This is a high-functioning emergency department with strong operational flow and consistent patient volume. Shift Structure Multiple shift options available Weekdays (Tues–Fri): 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM Monday variation: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM Weekends (Sat–Sun): 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM Providers must be flexible across day, swing, and night shifts . Practice Environment Team-based emergency department with: Physician and APP coverage Teaching environment with supervision of: Residents Medical students Advanced Practice Providers Clinical Scope Full-spectrum Emergency Medicine including: Trauma care (Level II) Medical emergencies Procedural interventions Specialty backup available: General Surgery Orthopedics ENT Plastic Surgery Candidate Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) Minimum 5+ years Emergency Medicine experience Trauma experience preferred Certifications required (AHA or American Red Cross only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS (at least once in career) Additional Details Cross-credentialing across multiple sites within the system High shift availability with consistent scheduling needs Long-term assignment with extension potential Why Physicians Take This Assignment High-volume ED with strong clinical exposure Flexible scheduling across multiple shift types Long-term stability (6+ months) Level II Trauma experience Established support team and specialty backup If you are an Indiana licensed Emergency Medicine Physician ready for a high-demand locum opportunity , Rhino Medical would love to connect.
