Gastroenterologists typically see patients who have been referred by their primary doctors after showing gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea constipation indigestion bleeding and abdominal pain. Nails: The use of artificial fingernail enhancements is prohibited because they contribute to an increased risk of colonization and transmission of potential pathogens. Natural nails must be kept shorter than ¼” long and polish must be conservative and in good repair. This applies to any personnel who will perform direct patient care or prepare products food/beverages medications etc. for patients.
