Doctor of Medicine | Genetics Location: Portland, OR Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Exciting Opportunity: Medical Geneticist (Locum) – Portland, OR Join our dedicated team as a Medical Geneticist and make a meaningful impact on patient care through innovative genetics services. What You’ll Do: Provide expert clinical genetic counseling for adult patients with high-risk conditions and cancer predisposition. Conduct pre- and post-test counseling, supporting patients throughout their diagnostic journey. Manage tumor-based genetic screening programs and high-risk patient cases. Contribute to prevention and precision oncology initiatives to advance personalized medicine. Collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver exceptional outpatient care across three clinic days per week. Required Skills: Active Oregon medical license and DEA (preferred but not mandatory if no prescribing required). Board Certification in Medical Genetics or eligibility within 3-5 years of residency completion. BLS certification. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Nice to Have Skills: Experience managing high-risk adult patient populations. Knowledge of tumor-based genetic screening and oncology-focused genetics. Familiarity with payor enrollment processes. Preferred Education and Experience: MD degree with completed residency in Medical Genetics. At least 1-3 years of relevant clinical genetics experience preferred, but dedicated recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Other Requirements: Ability to work three days a week, with guaranteed hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (lunch included). No procedures required; no call duties.
