Doctor of Medicine | Internal Medicine - General/Other Location: New Britain, CT Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Internal Medicine (Primary Care/Precepting) Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: New Britain, CT Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic Coverage Type: Clinical + Teaching Coverage Period: June 22, 2026 – December 31, 2026 Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM On-Call Shift Schedule: Shared call every 3rd week Call Type: Phone / Consultative (Resident First Call) Call Ratio: 1:3 weeks Call Response Time: As needed for resident support Callback Rate: Low PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 18–25 patients per half day (resident-dependent) Phone Consults: Included Case Mix: General internal medicine / primary care in teaching environment FACILITY INFORMATION Office Equipment Available: Standard outpatient clinic equipment Specialty Backup Available: Additional attending physician on-site Support Staff Available: Residents (5–6 learners per session) Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES General primary care evaluations Supervisory clinical review JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active CT license required Board: Board Certified in Internal Medicine Experience: Primary care experience required; teaching/precepting experience preferred Other Qualifications: Must be comfortable supervising residents and providing feedback DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise and precept resident clinic sessions Evaluate patients jointly with residents Provide real-time teaching and feedback Complete evaluations and documentation Oversee inbox, prescriptions, and administrative tasks Collaborate with attending physician and care team
