What You’ll Need to Succeed: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution Active and unrestricted medical license in Virginia Board certification or board eligibility in OB/GYN Proven experience with obstetric and gynecologic procedures including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, suction D&C, ectopic pregnancies, ovarian torsion, and abnormal bleeding Proficiency with EPIC EMR system Ability to work independently and team effectively in a hospital environment Strong communication skills and professionalism Nice to Have Skills: Previous locum or temporary physician experience Familiarity with high-risk pregnancy management in collaboration with MFM specialists Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations Experience in outpatient clinic settings Preferred Education and Experience: 3+ years of OB/GYN practice experience Prior experience with inpatient delivery and postpartum care Knowledge of hospitalist protocols and emergency procedures Other Requirements: Willingness to cover both hospital call and clinic shifts as needed Ability to commit to the specified dates from May through July, with potential ongoing assignments Must have or be eligible for VA licensure; credentialing typically takes 60-90 days (temporary privileges may be available for qualified providers) Local candidates preferred; competitive rates available for travel This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a dedicated team, flexible scheduling, and excellent compensation—earning $19.50/hour plus overtime, on-call, and holiday rates.
