Doctor of Medicine | Psychiatry - General/Other Location: South Carolina Employer: Lancesoft Inc Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position A well-established inpatient behavioral health program in South Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for locum tenens coverage starting May 2026 . This opportunity offers a structured inpatient setting, strong support staff, and manageable patient volume. Coverage Details Schedule: 24-hour coverage (8:00 AM – 8:00 AM) Call: Yes | Shared call coverage Call Ratio: Approximately 1:4 Reason for Coverage: Temporary physician shortage (maternity leave) Assignment Length: Dates TBD (ongoing need) Clinical Environment Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit Average 20 patients per day Patient Mix: 60% Adult | 40% Geriatric One provider on call at a time Supported by 1 mid-level (NP) Coverage team includes 4 physicians Responsibilities Inpatient psychiatric care Prescribing medications, including narcotics as clinically indicated Pre-admission screening review and documentation (CMS guidelines) Weekly care plan documentation Discharge summaries and medication reconciliation Supervision of NP Facility & Support 24/7 Lab and Anesthesia availability EMR: EPIC Fully supported hospital environment Travel assistance available (flight, lodging, rental car, mileage reimbursement) Preference given to candidates within driving distance, if available ✈️ Requirements Board Certified in Psychiatry (Required) Active South Carolina medical license (Required) NPDB self-query (within 30 days – required at submission) BLS / ACLS (Preferred) Fellowship training (Preferred) Comfortable with inpatient and geriatric populations ⏳ Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 60–90 days Interested providers are encouraged to apply to receive full assignment details and next steps.
