Are you a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon seeking a flexible, impactful assignment? AtlantiCare is currently looking for an experienced Locum Physician to join our hospital-based team in Atlantic City. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic, level II trauma center while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Atlantic City. The position offers a fixed-term engagement from June 1, 2026, to July 13, 2026, with the opportunity to make a difference in a busy surgical environment. Required Skills: Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery Active New Jersey medical license BLS and ACLS certification Proven experience performing adult cardiac surgery, including CABG, off-pump procedures, arterial revascularization, redo coronary revascularization, and associated procedures like pericardial window Strong clinical skills in adult cardiac trauma and patient management Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making abilities Nice to Have Skills: Experience with Cerner PowerChart or similar EHR systems Prior work in a hospital setting supporting ancillary staff like PAs, NPs, and intensivists Familiarity with Level II trauma protocols Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) Minimum of 3 years post-fellowship cardiothoracic surgery experience Prior locum or temporary staffing experience preferred but not required Other Requirements: Availability from June 1, 2026, through July 13, 2026 Willingness to cover approximately 12-13 shifts per month, including call as needed Credentialing estimated to be completed within 30 days Must adhere to all hospital policies and scope of practice Take this opportunity to showcase your expertise in a supportive environment with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including weekly pay, paid sick time, and reimbursed travel and licensure costs.
