Job Description
Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - Hand Location: Lansing, MI Employer: AAS Locum Tenens Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking a Locums Hand Surgery Physician to provide trauma call coverage at an ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center in Lansing, MI. This opportunity is ideal for a fellowship-trained hand surgeon seeking flexible trauma call coverage in a collaborative, high-acuity environment. Assignment Details 24-Hour Trauma Call Coverage: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM Current coverage need: approximately 10 days per month Level I Trauma Center with annual ER volume of approximately 90,000 visits In-person response required when procedures are necessary Practice Setting ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center Low surgical volume with focused trauma-related hand cases Average: 1 surgical case per month Summer months: approximately 3 surgical cases per month Support through dedicated Trauma Clinic: Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM SPB Suite 600 Responsibilities Provide hand trauma consultation and surgical coverage Evaluate and treat traumatic hand injuries and related conditions Perform procedures and follow-up care as needed Participate in trauma-related patient management and consults Collaborate with trauma surgery, emergency medicine, and hospital staff Maintain timely and accurate documentation Required Procedures & Experience Candidates must be experienced in: Hand-related surgical procedures Traumatic hand reconstruction General plastic surgery procedures including: Facial laceration repair Scar revisions Skin grafts Flap procedures Minor burn care Requirements Board Certified in: Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, or General Surgery Completion of a Hand Surgery Fellowship required Active Michigan medical license required BLS and ACLS certifications required
