Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - Orthopedic Location: Aurora, IL Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Orthopedic Surgery (Sports Medicine) Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Aurora, IL Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: July 2026 – 6 months Clinical Shift Schedule: 2 clinic days (8a – 5p) 2 OR days (7:30a start) On-Call Shift Schedule: Weeknight and weekend call (Fri 5p – Mon 7a; shared rotation) Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:7 weekends; shared with 6 surgeons for weeknights Call Response Time: TBD PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: 25–30 patients per day (clinic) Admissions: Yes Rounding: Required within 24 hours of admission Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: ACL, MCL, PCL, meniscus, multi-ligament injuries, hip arthroscopy FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: TBD Trauma Level: Level II EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: TBD Specialty Backup Available: Orthopedic team Support Staff Available: APPs (PA/NP), surgical team Reason for Coverage: Vacancy in Sports Medicine program PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 3 months COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES ACL, MCL, PCL reconstruction Meniscus procedures Multi-ligament knee procedures Hip arthroscopy JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active IL license or IMLC required Board: Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgery DEA: Required Certifications: Sports Medicine Fellowship required Experience: Must have multi-ligament and hip arthroscopy experience Other Qualifications: Strong sports medicine surgical background DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide clinic and surgical coverage in orthopedic sports medicine Perform complex sports medicine procedures Manage patient care, follow-ups, and surgical planning Participate in call rotation and respond to ER consults Collaborate with orthopedic team and APPs
