This is a rare opportunity to step into a true independent rural urology practice with a consistent every-other-week schedule, balanced clinic and OR time, and strong local support. Opportunity Snapshot Location: Holdrege, Nebraska Contract Type: Urology Locum Tenens Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing Schedule: Every Other Week coverage Typical Weekly Structure: OR: Morning cases Clinic: Afternoon patient visits Consistent clinic and OR rotation Call: 24/7 call during coverage week Primarily phone-based No in-house requirement Practice Environment This is a true rural urology model with broad scope and physician autonomy. Independent coverage with full clinical responsibility Balanced mix of clinic, procedures, and OR cases Predictable workflow with efficient scheduling Volume: Clinic: 20–25 patients per full day OR: 2–3 cases per week Clinic procedures: 3–4 per week This is a manageable volume designed for quality care—not throughput pressure. Scope of Practice Broad-spectrum general urology including: Kidney stone management Urologic oncology cases appropriate to facility Incontinence and voiding dysfunction Erectile dysfunction Urinary tract infections Procedural Capabilities: Cystoscopies and office-based procedures supported Standard OR cases supported Not Available: Prostate MRI biopsy capability ESWL Facility Overview Critical access hospital serving a regional rural population Established referral base with consistent demand for urology services Integrated clinic and surgical services Efficient, low-friction operational environment This is a community-dependent program where the urologist plays a key role in access to care. Support Structure Dedicated clinic nurse Medical Assistant support OR staff familiar with urology workflows No competing providers—true independent practice model.
