Logistics Coordinator $27.00-30.00 per hour 1 year initial contract Madison, WI 100% onsite.Job Description:The Logistics Coordinator will own the inventory and shipping and receiving processes between the company and the third party logistics.The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the transition of the inventory, In this case Proteins and peptides, between different distribution centres while also driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency and predictability to further enhance the capability to optimize inventories across our key supply chains.Daily responsibilities include:Shipping:Coordinate and execute shipments of primarily non-hazardous research materials, including temperature-controlled items, e.g.peptides, proteins, monomers, to the company & other approved company sites following IATA/DOT and external practices/procedures Documentation:Prepare, review and process shipping documentation, e.g.BOL, packing lists and US Custom forms Receiving:Receive, catalog, and store chemical compounds (e.g.peptides and amino acids / monomers) received from company locations and suppliers in laboratory freezers.Inventory Support:Onsite material inventory management, including assist with compound counts and maintaining accurate, organized records Manage Incoming Receiving Area:Receive delivered goods, process Goods Receipts, and distribute incoming material to labs and designated areas.Direct onsite visitors to appropriate people / locations Skills and Experience one needs to be successful in this role:Bachelor's degree in logistics, or biotechnology.Minimum 5 years' experience in Shipping logistics with Inventory Management, preferably in a biotech environment.Knowledgeable of DOT guidelines, practices, and procedures.Ability to routinely lift or push around 25 lbs (weekly will be 4 Liter bottles and reagents that need to be moved around facility) Strong cross functional collaboration with supply chain users is essential Able to assist in all assigned functions in support of the Stores Inventory Program including the performance of Cycle Counts and Physical Counts.Knowledge of SAP and perform SAP transactions.Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks.Experience with data visualization tools are a plus!
