Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our supply chain operations. This pivotal role involves managing warehouse distribution, transportation planning, procurement, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless product flow from suppliers to customers. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management, logistics systems, and data analysis tools to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. As a leader in logistics operations, you will play a critical role in enhancing process improvements, inventory control, and overall supply chain performance to support our company's growth objectives. Duties & Responsibilities: · Manage day-to-day logistics operations, including receiving, storage, finished good and WIP inventory control, order fulfillment, staging, loading, shipping, and transportation execution. · Lead, coach, and develop the entire logistics organization (managers, administrators, warehouse associates, and drivers); set expectations, ensure coverage, and drive accountability to performance, safety, and service standards. · Manage transportation planning and execution (in-house fleet and/or carriers), including route planning, dispatch, delivery performance, DOT/CDL compliance (as applicable), and freight cost management. · Ensure inventory integrity through cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliation, and root-cause investigation; maintain accurate inventory in the ERP/WMS and ensure timely transaction completion. · Work closely with the Inventory Control Manager to ensure inventory transaction discipline and accurate inventory status (timely receipts, moves, adjustments, and shipment confirmations) across all warehouse areas. · Partner with Production, Procurement, and Planning to align inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods flows to the production schedule; resolve constraints and support common site and supply chain goals. · Maintain compliance with company policies and all applicable regulations; lead safety, security, and quality practices across warehouse and transportation activities. · Track and report key performance indicators (service, cost, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, damages, and safety); implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. · Manage third-party logistics providers and carriers as applicable (warehousing, transportation, or brokerage), ensuring performance, inventory accuracy, contract compliance, and timely issue resolution. · Ensure accurate and timely documentation and administrative processing (BOLs, PODs, shipping documents, receiving paperwork, and system updates) to support audit readiness and customer requirements. · Coordinate with Customer Service/Sales (as applicable) on order priorities, shipment exceptions, and customer notifications; drive on-time, in-full performance. · Work closely with IT and systems teams to maintain reliable operational systems (ERP/WMS/TMS), troubleshoot issues, improve data quality, and support process standardization. · Support labor planning and budget management for the logistics function, including staffing plans, overtime control, and resource allocation to meet operational targets. Qualifications & Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). · 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics/warehouse operations, including inventory control and shipping/receiving in a manufacturing or distribution environment. · 3+ years of people leadership experience managing supervisors/managers and hourly teams; demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable. · Working knowledge of transportation operations (fleet and/or carrier management), dispatch/routing, and freight cost control; DOT/CDL compliance experience preferred if managing drivers. · Strong inventory control background (cycle counts, physical inventory, variance analysis, and root-cause correction) with a focus on accuracy and process discipline. · Experience using ERP and warehouse/transportation systems (ERP/WMS/TMS), RF scanning, and Microsoft Excel; able to translate data into actionable operating metrics.
