ABOUT US Louisa's Electronics has been serving Durango and Southwest Colorado as a custom integration company for over 26 years. We design and install integrated home technology systems for high-end residential clients and the region’s top custom home builders, including audio/video, home theater, distributed audio, networking, security/surveillance, motorized shades, and lighting control. We are a CEDIA and ProSource member company working with professional-grade integration products and platforms. Our clients expect clean, professional work and reliable systems. That standard is built in the field. We are a small, experienced team. Everyone here knows their craft, takes ownership of their work, and holds each other to a high standard. WHAT THIS ROLE IS We are looking for an experienced technician who can contribute immediately in the field and take ownership of their work. This is a hands-on role focused on the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and service of AV, networking, security, surveillance, lighting control, and smart home systems in custom environments. You will work across the full project lifecycle including pre-wire, trim-out, retrofit, rack installation, equipment setup, system commissioning, and service calls. The right candidate is comfortable working independently or alongside another technician, solving problems in the field, communicating professionally with clients and builders, and maintaining a high standard of workmanship. We are looking for someone who cares about clean installations, reliable systems, attention to detail, and long-term craftsmanship. You do not need to know every product or platform we use, but you do need strong field experience, good technical instincts, and the ability to learn quickly. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Install, terminate, and service low-voltage systems across audio/video, distributed audio, home theater, networking, security, surveillance, structured wiring, lighting control, and motorized shades Complete pre-wire and trim-out installations on active custom residential job sites Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas and installations throughout every phase of a project Mount, install, wire, and dress equipment including TVs, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, network switches, racks, NVRs, and related components Perform system setup, configuration, testing, and commissioning of installed systems Troubleshoot and service existing installations, diagnosing issues across cabling, equipment, networking, and system configuration Read and work from wiring diagrams, rack layouts, project documentation, and scope notes Communicate professionally with clients, custom home builders, general contractors, and trade partners on job sites Manage tools, materials, documentation, and workflow across multiple active projects Support and work alongside junior technicians as needed WHAT SUCCEEDS HERE Takes ownership of their work from start to finish Works well both independently and in a team-oriented field environment Troubleshoots problems methodically and works toward solutions before escalating issues Maintains a high standard of workmanship, organization, and attention to detail Communicates professionally with clients, builders, trade partners, and teammates Adapts well in the field and stays composed when priorities or conditions change Learns new products, systems, and platforms quickly Shows up consistently and is someone the team can depend on REQUIREMENTS 2+ years of hands-on field experience in custom integration, low-voltage installation, AV, security, networking, or a closely related trade Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to pass a background check Physically capable of working on active construction sites including climbing ladders, working in attics and crawl spaces, and lifting up to 75 lbs in varying conditions NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED) CEDIA certification or manufacturer training credentials in AV, networking, security, or low-voltage systems Familiarity with Snap One brands and platforms (Araknis, OvrC, etc.), Nice/ELAN, Lutron, Sonos, Sony, LG, or similar residential integration products and systems Experience leading portions of a project or mentoring junior technicians Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour Benefits Paid time off Professional development assistance Application Question(s): Describe your hands-on experience in custom integration, low-voltage, AV installation, or related fields.
