Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team and drive excellence in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects including network infrastructure, security systems, telecommunications, and data centers. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of critical communication and security systems, delivering top-tier service to clients while expanding your technical expertise. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems such as CCTV surveillance, access control, VoIP telephony, and fiber optic cabling. Perform fiber splicing and terminations with precision to ensure optimal network performance. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Conduct network installation tasks including Ethernet cabling (Cat5, Cat6), LAN setup, and Cisco or Juniper router configurations. Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other equipment to perform system repairs and maintenance efficiently. Provide exceptional field service by diagnosing issues on-site, performing repairs or replacements of telecommunication equipment, and ensuring system integrity. Collaborate with clients to deliver excellent customer service by explaining system functions and addressing technical concerns professionally. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or low voltage technician working with electrical systems, telecommunication wiring, or network infrastructure. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LANs, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and telephony solutions such as Avaya. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and cabling standards (Cat5/Cat6). Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and telecommunication regulations. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Knowledge of data center environments and power management systems is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving in fast-paced settings. Electrical experience or certification is preferred; valid driver’s license required for field work.
