As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical competence and adhering to ethical standards. Key Responsibilities Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a safe care environment. Deliver quality nursing care through medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education. Perform ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and support clinical decision-making. Collaborate closely with supervising RNs or shift managers to meet patient needs effectively. Document all care activities and quality monitoring data to comply with standards and improve outcomes. Communicate patient information clearly to physicians and healthcare team members to optimize care. Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability. Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to support positive health outcomes. Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to enhance skills. Education Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program is required. Experience One year of practical nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Licenses and Certifications Current LPN license valid in the state or through compact licensure. Graduate Practical Nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
