Job Description
The Powder Room Machine Operator performs routine tasks to produce piezoelectric powders and fired ceramics in accordance with company policy and safety procedures. Assists the Powder Production Supervisor in conducting process experiments. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Set-up and operate a range of automatic or semiautomatic machines. Work with raw materials. Identify and retrieve items specified in job documentation, conduct weigh outs and maintain accurate inventory logs. Evaluate and verify that production items are within tolerances and meet specifications as outlined in job documentation. Conduct minor preventative maintenance, adjustments and repairs. Maintain clean and orderly work environment. Follow and suggest improvements to powder handling procedures to minimize the generation of dust, routinely clean work areas and participate in 6S initiatives. Use a range of documents to perform work, such as job routers, quality documents and work instructions. Must meet and maintain daily production targets (once fully trained). Wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and respirators. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Background: 0-2 years of relevant experience Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
