Maintenance/Grounds Worker (Anticipated)

Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Maintenance General Date Posted: 2/13/2026 Location: Conewago District Office Date Available: 03/01/2026 Closing Date: Until Filled SUMMARY: Assist the Head of Maintenance & Grounds in maintaining the campuses of all buildings in the District. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific tasks and/or activities under each of the following responsibilities will be assigned by the Supervisor. Assist the maintenance department as needed Maintain grass areas of all District property campus areas by mowing and trimming with appropriate equipment Repair, reinforce, or introduce new lawn as needed Trim shrubbery and trees on all campus areas within the District Plant shrubs as needed or requested Saw trees, limbs, or branches, and removed brush to maintain a safe and attractive appearance Mulch appropriate ground areas Pull weeds and maintain mulched areas Maintain sports and practice fields as appropriate for each particular sport Layout, paint, and prepare sports fields as appropriate for practices and/or games Maintain the outdoor grounds' appearance of all campuses within the District by picking up and removing all trash Empty all outdoor trash barrels Repair chain link fences within the District Sharpen mower blades for optimum performance Wash equipment (mowers, trucks) Maintain all equipment for optimum performance and duration, and to prevent unnecessary repairs Clean the Grounds Shop area, including the bathroom Remove snow by plowing and shoveling Spread ice melt
