JOB DESCRIPTION CLASSIFICATION: Maintenance Mechanic 2 EFFECTIVE DATE : 12/04/24 REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager DEPARTMENT: Maintenance EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY Involved in the maintenance, repair and installation of industrial machinery, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems in a food processing plant. Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and in proper operating order. Diagnose equipment and machinery failures or problems and take corrective action with minimal supervision. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery and documents all reports and logs. Repairs and or replaces parts as needed including fabricating parts on lathes and milling machines, welding or soldering as required for the job. Works on refrigeration components and starts compressors as required. Uses variety of hand and power tools, saws, and welding equipment.
