ABOUT THE ROLE Work Schedule & Location: This is a full-time plumbing maintenance role, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM at a federal facility in Kansas City, MO. Flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend emergency repairs may be needed. Your Day: The day starts with a check-in with the Chief Engineer to review work orders and service requests. The plumber begins with preventive maintenance tasks, inspecting plumbing systems, checking backflow preventers, and ensuring stormwater management systems function properly. Using a mix of tools, minor repairs are made to fixtures, pipes, and drainage systems to prevent larger issues. Service calls vary throughout the day-unclogging drains, fixing leaks, or troubleshooting water pressure concerns. When major repairs arise, such as a burst pipe or malfunctioning boiler, the plumber works alongside other trades and may coordinate with subcontractors if necessary. In between plumbing tasks, they assist HVAC, electrical, and general maintenance teams as needed. At the end of the shift, completed work orders are logged, and preparations are made for any after-hours. Must-Have Qualifications: Journeyman Plumber License (must maintain your license for continued employment) 5+ years of journey-level plumbing maintenance and repair experience High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 30 certification HSPD-12 determination for work Note that this is a Local 101 Union Position READY TO APPLY?
