As a team, we are committed, inspired, and connected to make a difference in the community.What You Will DoThe Hashawha Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Hashawha Environmental Center and Bear Branch Nature Center. Reporting to the Park Maintenance Supervisor, daily tasks include operating landscaping equipment, janitorial duties, and various maintenance tasks. You will perform a variety of skilled trades worker and maintenance duties in the construction and improvement Hashawha, Bear Branch, and other county-owned facilities in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws. The work you do will help ensure the facilities and grounds are safe and accessible for all visitors.Essential Duties•Operate and maintain a full range of construction and grounds maintenance equipment.•Perform daily janitorial and cleaning services as needed. Clean grounds and facilities.•Apply landscaping techniques and procedures. Complete trail maintenance including limbing and bucking of trees.•Complete skilled construction and renovation projects of facility. Perform basic electrical, carpentry, concrete, painting, and plumbing maintenance and repairs.•Prepare facility for special events including erecting tents, placing signs, and grounds preparation. Assist with parking and other duties for events.•Assist with coordinated snow removal and storm damage response efforts.•Gather proper materials and tools in preparation for jobs. Use resources effectively.•Follow all established safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.•Complete assigned work in a timely fashion. Accept feedback.•Demonstrate an ability to collaborate and a willingness to learn.
