About the Role The Maintenance tech plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal operation and longevity of all facility equipment and systems. This position is responsible for leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime. The Maintenance Tech will coordinate with other departments to schedule repairs and upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential problems and mentoring junior technicians to enhance team performance. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician ensures that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, supporting the overall productivity and safety of the facility. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or commercial maintenance. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate maintenance vehicles and equipment safely. Preferred Qualifications: Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or related field. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance environment. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices. Experience with welding, plumbing, or other specialized trades. Responsibilities: Lead and perform routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, utilizing technical manuals and schematics. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures. Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, providing training and guidance to improve skills and safety awareness. Coordinate with management and other departments to plan maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts inventory, and compliance documentation. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Skills: The Maintenance Technician uses their mechanical and electrical expertise daily to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Strong diagnostic skills enable the technician to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Leadership and communication skills are essential for mentoring junior staff and coordinating with other departments to schedule maintenance activities efficiently. Familiarity with CMMS software helps in tracking maintenance tasks, managing inventory, and documenting compliance. Additionally, a solid understanding of safety regulations ensures that all work is performed in a safe manner, protecting both personnel and equipment.
