Dayton, OH Maintenance • Maintenance & Reliability Position Summary This position is responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and facility equipment critical to maintaining continuous production and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Essential Functions Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Five or more years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing manufacturing and facility equipment. Minimum of three years of formal technical training. Electrical knowledge of DC and AC systems and industrial power distribution. Experience with stamping presses and associated equipment (feeders, straighteners, de-reelers), including rebuilds and overhauls. General machine tool experience. Knowledge of industrial electronics, including CNC machine controls and PLC or relay logic systems. Experience with AC and DC drives, servo motors, and related controls. Understanding of motors, transformers, and generators. Proficiency using electrical test equipment such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, phase testers, and high-potential testers. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and control diagrams. Demonstrated initiative and creativity; ability to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines and accommodate non-standard work hours when needed. Ability to work collaboratively with salaried and hourly personnel as well as external contractors while maintaining strong working relationships. Fit for Duty Requirements Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and use hands for handling and manipulation throughout the workday. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with proper coordination and manual dexterity. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Ability to work at heights exceeding 30 feet using appropriate fall protection. Ability to work in high-temperature environments (near ovens, furnaces, boilers, or ceiling areas) for extended periods. Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces in, above, or beneath equipment. Ability to wear arc-flash protection and general PPE including gloves, respiratory protection, aprons, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, and weather-appropriate gear (provided). General Responsibilities Utilize a computerized maintenance management or work order system to receive assignments, update progress, and document completed work. Conduct technical research and diagnostics to resolve equipment issues. Operate forklifts, manlifts, and material-handling equipment including cranes, hoists, and pallet jacks. Participate in ongoing technical training as required. Perform duties outside of machine repair as needed, including housekeeping, lean initiatives, fabrication, and support tasks. Demonstrate accountability, task ownership, and adherence to company policies and safety procedures. Participate in the company’s emergency response program, including CPR certification and annual training (provided). Perform outdoor work when required, including grounds maintenance and snow removal (cold-weather gear provided).
