Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities through proactive maintenance and repair of equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience in facilities maintenance, enabling them to troubleshoot issues effectively and provide exceptional customer service. This is a Maintenance Technician position for a Springhill Suites Marriott Hotel. Duties General Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance for all hotel facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and mechanical systems. Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and other hotel amenities in a timely manner to minimize guest disruption. Guest Room Maintenance: Ensure that guest rooms are properly maintained and that issues such as leaking faucets, broken lights, or malfunctioning air conditioning units are addressed. Preventive Maintenance: Regularly inspect and service hotel equipment to prevent breakdowns and costly repairs. Maintain a schedule for preventive maintenance tasks and report to the supervisor when equipment needs replacement or upgrades. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance requests from guests or other staff members, such as clogged drains, power outages, or malfunctioning heating/cooling systems. Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and hotel standards, and follow all hotel and government regulations, including fire and safety codes. Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance requests, repairs, and work completed. Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Desk, etc.) to ensure a smooth operation and timely resolution of issues. Other Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Hotel Manager. Experience Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in facilities maintenance. Familiarity with CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities is preferred. Experience working with logic controllers and understanding their operation is a plus. Ability to fabricate parts and perform welding tasks as required. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English. Competence in reading schematics and technical drawings related to machinery and systems.
