Location Description Visalia, CA is home to 360,000 square feet of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, and office space. Approximately 250 employees work here, utilizing the latest technologies and systems, capable of producing extensive, diverse, and innovative pet food products. Visalia is in California’s San Joaquin Valley and the gateway to Sequoia National Park, part of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It also has a minor league baseball team, the Visalia California Oaks, and several colleges and universities. Responsibilities We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep our plant running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is an entry- mid level, hands-on role supporting industrial equipment in a food manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement. Shift: 6:00pm-6:30am 2-2-3 Schedule Payrate: $32.00/hr What You’ll Do Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment (extruders, dryers, pneumatic systems, motors, starters) Respond to scheduled and emergency maintenance needs to minimize downtime Perform root cause analysis and help prevent repeat failures Support and improve the plant’s preventative maintenance program Work closely with Production to coordinate repairs and equipment uptime Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts inventory, and work orders Assist with new equipment installations and contractor projects Keep a clean, organized, and food‑safe maintenance shop Food Safety & Compliance Follow all Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and sanitation requirements Support Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Daily Routine Lists (DRL) Immediately report food safety, quality, or security concerns Maintain a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment at all times Qualifications What We’re Looking For 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus) Experience with industrial dryers, hammer mills, extruders, and conveyors preferred Basic electrical knowledge (motors, starters, controls) Familiarity with boilers, PLCs, and plant electrical systems Self‑motivated, safety‑minded, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team Physical & Work Environment Lift up to 60 lbs.; climb ladders and work at heights when needed Work around moving equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures Occasional outdoor and chemical exposure Overtime and on‑call support as needed This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime in accordance with California law. Placement within the range will be based on experience, certifications (e.g., electrical, HVAC, PLC), and overall qualifications.
