Maintenance Worker This position may be filled as a Maintenance Worker II or Maintenance Worker III depending on the selected candidate's qualifications. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity: Maintenance Worker II: preferred hiring range is $19.12 to $21.19 an hour ($39,769.60 - $44,075.20 Annually). Maintenance Worker III: preferred hiring range is $20.45 to $25.14 an hour ($42,536.00 - $52,291.20 Annually). The Maintenance Worker II performs routine semi-skilled work in a variety of construction, repair and maintenance assignments involving the use of common tools and operates equipment in connection with the semi-skilled tasks to which assigned; does related work as required. Assignment: This position will fill one of the following assignments based on operational and department need: Sidewalks Crew: Typical work schedule is Tuesday - Friday: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM - Under the direction of a Maintenance Crew Supervisor, the selected candidate will assist in performing semi-skilled labor in the installation, maintenance and repair of sidewalks and related infrastructure. Concrete Crew: Typical work schedule is Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM - This position is part of a dedicated Concrete Crew responsible for supporting Capital Improvement Projects related to sidewalk repair and construction throughout the City. Under the direction of a Maintenance Crew Supervisor, the selected candidate will assist in performing semi-skilled labor in the installation, maintenance and repair of sidewalks and related infrastructure. Street Marking/Asphalt Crew: Typical work schedule is Monday - Thursday: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM - Under the direction of a Maintenance Crew Supervisor, the selected candidate will assist in performing semi-skilled labor in the maintenance and repair of City streets to include repairing potholes, utility cuts and street marking. Refuse Collection & Disposal Crew: Typical work schedule is Tuesday Friday: 6:30 AM 5:00 PM - Under the direction of the Refuse Maintenance Crew Supervisor, the selected candidate will assist in the collection and disposal of solid waste throughout the City. As of March 28, 2024, this position is part of the Labor and Trades bargaining unit. Future wage adjustments are subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement between the City and the exclusive bargaining representative.
