Job Description
Major Gifts, Regional Programs, Senior Associate Director Will be responsible for Tulane's major gift program in an assigned region, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals, with a focus on securing gift commitments in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000. Works closely with colleagues across Advancement and other departments to optimize fundraising success. Responsibilities Identifies and qualifies new prospective major donors and volunteers in the assigned region; manages a portfolio of qualified individual prospects. Develops a broad and deep understanding of the unique culture, philanthropic community, and Tulane network in the assigned region. Travels regularly for personal meetings with prospective major gift donors; solicits major gifts, including annual and planned gifts. Documents contacts with volunteers, donors, and prospects in the database. Serves as the subject matter expert for a unit and meets regularly with the unit leader to stay informed about programs and fundraising priorities. Communicates this information to Advancement teams to maximize prospect advancement for the unit; works with Advancement Communications and Marketing to create gift proposals and informational documents. Staffs and/or helps other Advancement members prepare to staff the unit leader in meetings with prospects and donors. Assists with the unit’s Advisory Council, if any, including developing strategies for Council members and assisting in council meetings; participates in setting strategy for prospects and donors of the unit. Creates and implements major gift solicitation and stewardship strategies in collaboration with development colleagues, considering donor interests and financial situation as well as university and unit priorities.
