Job Description
Mammal Care Specialist (Part-Time) Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens – Jacksonville, FL Join a mission-driven team dedicated to connecting communities with wildlife and wild places. As a Mammal Care Specialist (MCS), you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health, wellbeing, and safety of the animal population while helping create meaningful guest experiences. What You’ll Do Provide daily animal care: feeding, cleaning, enrichment, training, and habitat maintenance Monitor and document animal health and behavior Maintain safe, clean, and engaging habitats Support veterinary procedures, animal introductions, and population management Engage guests through educational interactions and presentations Uphold the highest standards of safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare What We’re Looking For Experience working with wildlife in a professional care setting Strong observation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Commitment to safety, conservation, and inclusive workplace culture Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied schedules Growth & Development Full-time team members are eligible for our Animal Care Specialist Development Program, offering merit-based advancement with increased responsibility and pay.
