Job Description
Mammo Tech I Job Summary: The Mammography Tech I is responsible for the preparation and performing of all mammographic procedures and providing patient care. Licensure and Certification: Current State of California License - CRT (R)(M) ARRT (R)(M) preferred Current BLS provider card Education: Completion of accredited Radiologic Technology and Mammography program Experience: New grad or less than two years of experience in the field of mammography Knowledge and Skills: Ability to perform mammographic x-ray procedures with the willingness to learn additional biopsy and breast ultrasound procedures and protocols. Strong verbal and written communication skills Organizational skills Proficient reading, writing, grammar and math skills Knowledge of medical terminology Basic computer skills Knowledge of digital mammography Familiar with electronic Patient Health Information including medical records, order entry and patient tracking. Physical Demands - Patient Care: Continuous standing/walking and occasional/intermittent sitting. Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and shoulder level to handle/operate medical equipment/devices. Frequent reaching above shoulder level and overhead. Frequent forward bending, twisting, squatting and kneeling; occasional climbing. Occasional repositioning and transferring patients weighing up to 200 pounds between bed, chair, and gurney. Occasional lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional/intermittent pushing of gurneys, wheelchairs, bed and other medical equipment over tiled and carpeted surfaces. Continuous use of near vision to read medical equipment such as monitoring devices and reading documents and computer screens; hearing and verbal communication to interact with patients, co-workers, and other customers.
