What We Are Looking For: We are seeking a results-oriented professional with a profound understanding of category management principles. You possess exceptional analytical capabilities and a proven ability to act as an objective, fact-based advisor. You are a strategic thinker who understands the critical importance of data confidentiality and supplier neutrality, and you are motivated by the challenge of growing the entire category for our retail partner. Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted and impartial advisor to Walmart, providing objective, data-driven recommendations to grow the total cosmetics category. Uphold strict supplier neutrality and confidentiality in all interactions and analyses, operating independently of L'Oréal's sales and marketing functions. Proactively analyze a wide range of data sources (e.g., Scintilla, Nielsen IQ, Numerator, other data sources) to identify key category performance drivers, shopper trends, and white-space opportunities for the retailer. Translate complex data into clear, strategic insights and actionable recommendations on assortment, shelving, and promotional strategies that benefit the entire category. Support the development and revision of both physical and virtual planograms using JDA/Blue Yonder software, ensuring they reflect shopper-centric merchandising principles. Partner cross-functionally with Walmart’s Buying, Space Planning and Site Merchandising teams to ensure cohesive execution of category initiatives. Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and overall category performance through in-store and online analysis to inform adaptive strategies for Walmart. Candidate Should Possess The Ability To Operate with the highest level of integrity, objectivity, and respect for confidentiality. Build strong, trust-based relationships with retail partners and internal stakeholders through influential communication and reliable insights. Think strategically to identify long-term growth opportunities for the category. Manage complexity, problem-solve, and re-prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. Work independently and proactively while also fostering collaboration across teams. Measures Of Success Successfully maintain and strengthen the Category Advisorship role with Walmart. Consistent delivery of high-quality, objective, and actionable strategic insights to the retailer. Positive feedback from Walmart partners on the value, objectivity, and integrity of the advice provided. Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate key category opportunities and risks proactively. Effective and timely delivery of category projects, including category reviews and shopper-centric planograms. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years’ experience in a category management role, Walmart and Beauty experience preferred. Proficiency in syndicated data analysis (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana, M360) with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with planogram software (e.g., JDA/Blue Yonder) is required. Strong Analytical Skills with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable, unbiased insights (e.g. Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty system, CDJ’s, Shopper Perception, etc.) Clear, concise, and persuasive verbal and written communication for internal and external stakeholders, especially with retailers. Capacity for strategic thinking, problem-solving, and strict adherence to confidentiality and ethical principles (NDAs).
