JOB Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is an award-winning, medium-hub commercial service airport that served more than a record-breaking 11.1 million passengers in 2025 and is one of the top 50 airports in the United States for passenger traffic. Base Operations at Page Field is an award-winning, fixed-based operator and has been recognized for its customer service and facilities.Terminal Expansion projects are currently underway at RSW to improve the airport travel experience by consolidating the security checkpoints, adding concession space and providing passengers more amenities and options. In addition, a new Concourse E is being constructed with 14 gates, as well as other terminal, landside and airside improvements.The PositionThe Lee County Port Authority (LCPA) is now hiring an Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) Manager to lead daily operations of the AOCC for Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). This role requires a motivated leader who maintains real-time situational awareness during regular operations, irregular operations, and emergencies while coordinating effectively with all internal and external airport stakeholders. Responsibilities include providing leadership and direction to AOCC staff, coordinating administrative functions, and proactively managing daily operational activity. The successful candidate will have recent experience in a fast-paced control center (AOCC, AOC, OCC), significant knowledge of commercial airport operations, and familiarity with Public Safety Telecommunications centers. The anticipated annual starting rate for the ideal candidate is $85,689 - $101,969Minimum RequirementsA valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hireA Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience within airport operations or AOCC at a medium or large hub air carrier facility. A combination of education and experience may be consideredA minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience in airport operations, emergency management, or public safetyPublic Safety Telecommunicator (PST) and Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) certifications required within 12 months of hireMust meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) compliance requirementsMust successfully pass a TSA background investigation and drug screeningFlexibility in work hours to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Key ResponsibilitiesLead the AOCC in a proactive manner to ensure daily and strategic operations align with the LCPA's mission, values, and proceduresDevelop, update, and maintain a shared operational overview, providing real-time situational awareness to airport leadership and emergency respondersManage and coordinate response protocols with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies and law enforcement which enable, promote or provide continuity of airport operationsLead and develop AOCC trainings and participate in airport-wide training exercisesRegularly review established guidelines and procedures to suggest improvements, develop new procedures, and ensure alignment with the needs of our internal and external stakeholdersMaintain AOCC technology and seek opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processesLead, develop, and conduct evaluations and annual reviews for AOCC staffMaintain records, prepare reports and manage budgetsObtain and maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, and professional development requirementsEmergency Response/Recovery ActivitiesLee County Port Authority personnel are designated by tier levels and may be called upon to assist with an emergency or unforeseen event at any time.
