The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range: $77,230.40 - $100,942.40 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview Responsible for overseeing daily operations of financial clearance department and point of service collections and price estimation operate efficiently. This leader researches and seeks to implement emerging best practices to increase financial clearance efficiency and promote a positive patient experience. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree. A High School diploma or equivalent and additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a formal Bachelor's degree. Experience: Four years of progressively responsible experience in point of service collections and price estimation when accompanied by a Bachelor's degree. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in point of service collections and price estimation when accompanied by a high school diploma. Supervisory experience is preferred. Other Credentials Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of copays, deductibles and co-insurance. Special Training: Intermediate computer skills. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Organizational skills to meet deadlines and adapt to department needs. Experience working in an office environment preferred. Self-motivated; ability to work well with interdisciplinary teams. Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension at all levels. Usual Work Day: 8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees? Yes If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collaborates with other patient access/scheduling department leaders to ensure workflows are aligned to collect patient financial responsibility Meets with other revenue cycle and clinical leadership to coordinate services and facilitate a cohesive patient experience. Gathers and presents financial clearance performance data (e.g. POS collections, % of patients pre-registered, number of estimates provided and estimate accuracy to executive leadership teams Oversees planning and development of financial clearance policies and procedures. Works closely with vendor partners to ensure performance expectations are continually met; maintains strong working relationships with external partners. Establishes and monitors productivity and quality measures for financial clearance staff and sets parameters for performance dashboards and reports. Monitors staff productivity and quality; addresses escalated issues in a timely manner. Works with human resources on recruiting process, hiring decisions, and performance management of financial clearance staff. Manages payroll responsibilities.
