Job Description You will be a key leader, partner, and essential member of the Mission Assurance team. As a Mission Assurance Manager, you will Lead the Program Mission Assurance team and actively participate in program decision making, technical reviews, anomaly resolution, risk management and be responsible for establishing a culture of mission success. The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution. What You’ll Do: Be a visionary contributor to the program leadership team. Team with; Program Manager, Integration & Test and Systems Engineering to deliver hardware and missions that are meaningful to our customers, nation, and world. Lead and support anomaly and failure review board processes through coordinating Subject Matter Expertise. Own communication channels and interface with Program Customer Mission Assurance representatives. Spearhead execution of Mission Assurance requirements implementation, verification, and validation. Own the implementation of standard company processes for assigned program(s) by development and execution of program unique Mission Assurance Plan(s), through each of the assigned functional disciplines. Participate and lead technical discussions regarding quality assurance and specialty engineering design aligned to mission risk objectives and goals. Balance regarding technical risks against cost and schedule constraints; defend them when needed. Build out a budgetary and scheduled plan for Mission Assurance tasks and activities for the course of a program lifecycle. Investigate and disseminate reporting of project metrics to develop a continuous feedback loop of improvement. Champion and envision process improvement for current and future programs. Align and organize the Mission Assurance Integrated Product Team (EEE Parts Engineering, Reliability, Radiation Effects, Hardware and Software Quality, Materials and Processes Engineering, Contamination Control and Systems Safety) Be adaptable; have the ability to navigate between strategic thought and tactical implementation in technical and programmatic settings with various stakeholders. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. Required Education, Experience, & Skills BS/BA in related field plus 8 or more years related experience. Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Leadership skills to inspire and connect with team members, customers and subject matter experts to provide program Mission Assurance leadership and achieve ,mission success. Technical background to engage the MA team for in design, production/test readiness, and other reviews and audits with the ability to make risk-informed decisions. Experience in four or more of the Mission Assurance fields is preferred: Reliability, Radiation, EEE parts, Materials & Processes, Contamination, Software Quality, Hardware Quality, Ground Development, or Satellite Operations. <
