About La Embajada La Embajada is an independent luxury specialty store located in the heart of Clarksville. The space is dedicated to mid-century modern and contemporary design from Mexico, with a strong focus on quality handcrafted goods, custom furnishings, and curated, high-touch customer experiences. La Embajada serves both individual clients and interior designers, offering bespoke pieces and to-spec sourcing in addition to retail sales. Position Overview We are seeking a professional, motivated, and entrepreneurial Store Manager to lead La Embajada’s operations, elevate team performance, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on approach to ensure operational excellence, brand integrity, and financial success. In addition to overseeing daily retail operations, the Manager will play a key role in cultivating relationships within the design community and managing custom and trade purchasing. Why You’ll Love Working for MML Competitive salary + bonus potential Paid time off MML property discounts (hotel, restaurant, retail) Fitness and health benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and pet insurance Retirement benefits Community service opportunities Relocation assistance Key Responsibilities Store Leadership & Operations Lead all aspects of store operations, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management Ensure operational efficiency across inventory management, merchandising, store presentation, and adherence to brand standards Drive financial performance by meeting or exceeding sales goals, profitability targets, and operational KPIs Maintain in-depth knowledge of all products, brands, pricing, systems, and procedures, ensuring the team is consistently trained and informed Serve as a visible leader on the sales floor, modeling best-in-class luxury service Resolve customer concerns with professionalism, courtesy, and sound judgment Foster a positive, high-performing, people-first team culture through coaching, mentoring, and clear communication Collaborate with MML leadership to align store operations with broader company initiatives and brand standards Lead with an entrepreneurial mindset, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in daily operations Trade & Designer Partnerships Develop and maintain strong relationships with interior designers, architects, and trade clients Serve as the primary point of contact for designer clients, providing high-touch, white-glove service Manage custom and to-spec orders, ensuring accuracy, pricing alignment, vendor coordination, and timely fulfillment Oversee special-order purchasing from order placement through delivery Grow La Embajada’s presence within the design community through networking and strategic relationship-building Identify opportunities to expand trade partnerships and drive long-term revenue growth Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role; luxury retail, hospitality, or design-related experience strongly preferred Experience working with interior designers or as a purchaser for a design firm strongly preferred Proven ability to manage budgets, drive profitability, and achieve sales targets Experience managing custom orders, vendor relationships, and special-order purchasing processes preferred High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Spanish fluency strongly preferred Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented Background knowledge of or interest in Latin American culture, design, and craftsmanship strongly preferred Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require Physical Requirements The physical demands described here represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
