Job Description
This role provides management for the daily operations of the SCI TFWCC Multidisciplinary Clinic, along with other assigned Clinics and support functions. Responsible for managing all assigned clinic and support staff, developing and implementing policies, processes and procedures to improve financial performance, patient/clinic workflow and patient experience, attainment of departmental financial and productivity goals, and administration of assigned budgets. Works supportively and collaboratively with SCI physician leader and other direct care providers to develop systems and processes that improve clinical quality while assuring patient safety, and improve provider and clinic efficiency. Planning: Works with directors, managers, peers and staff to plan and implement concepts, which promote “Best Practice” across the Swedish Cancer Institute and SMC spectrum. Utilizes personal skills to manage self and others to effectively achieve goals and meet timelines. Collaborates with the manager to complete probationary and annual evaluations and develop expectations for staff in order to reach ‘best practice.’ Responsible with Director for hiring. Performs as a staff nurse when necessary. Using leadership, creativity, positive attitude, and a high level of interpersonal skills, collaborates with Medical Oncology staff to improve quality and support clinical “Best Practice.” Works collaboratively with physician leaders and clinical nurse specialists to develop methods for improving quality of care. Manages KRONOS, staff overtime and dependability. Maintains functionality of equipment and is responsible for physical plant oversight. Responsible for leading, coaching, mentoring and modeling service excellence behaviors to staff. Quality Assurance Designs, initiates, and participates in and reports quality improvement activities. Responsible for maintaining own knowledge base in both clinical and management domains by seeking out and participating in educational experiences. Able to provide direct patient care. Swedish Vision Acts as a liaison for the integration of process and smooth patient flow throughout the Swedish organization. Promotes customer service. Maintains Swedish quality care practices. Bachelor's Degree in BSN from an accredited school of nursing. ~ Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License. ~ Upon hire: Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Oncology Certified Nurse certification. ~7 years Experience in an oncology out-patient clinical area of nursing with demonstrated clinical knowledge and leadership qualities. ~Master's Degree in Health Sciences or Business.
