Overview Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic State Managing Attorney to lead and manage its New York creditors' rights practice, operating from its Cranford, New Jersey office. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with strong litigation expertise, team management experience, and a proven ability to drive client success and business growth. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Practice Management Provide strategic direction, leadership, and mentorship to the legal team Set clear performance objectives and drive team accountability Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment Identify and address complex legal and client-related issues proactively Case Management & Client Service Oversee litigation processes including case evaluations, assignments, and trial strategies Ensure high-quality legal work product and compliance with client and firm standards Manage client relationships and maintain consistent communication Ensure coverage for hearings, conferences, and court appearances Team Supervision & Development Supervise, mentor, and evaluate associates and legal staff Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback Support professional development and training initiatives Business Development & Compliance Develop and maintain client relationships to support business growth Stay current on legal, regulatory, and industry developments Ensure adherence to compliance, ethical standards, and internal policies Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school Active Bar admission in New York (New Jersey admission preferred) Minimum 8 years of legal practice, with experience in NY default/real estate or creditors' rights At least 2 years of leadership or management experience Strong litigation, analytical, and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office tools Benefits Competitive compensation package Medical, dental, and vision insurance Disability insurance 401(k) plan with employer match (up to 4%) Performance-based bonuses and incentives Hybrid work flexibility Opportunity for equity partnership based on performance Travel opportunities for conferences and client engagement Location: Cranford, New Jersey (On-site/Hybrid) Compensation: $150,000 - $190,000
