Managing Director Hattiloo Theatre | Memphis, TN Overview The Managing Director oversees Hattiloo Theatre’s financial and operational systems, with a primary focus on accounting, budgeting, and organizational accountability. This role ensures that staff, vendors, business operations, and theatre assets stay aligned with Hattiloo’s goals. The Managing Director serves as a key connection between the CEO and staff, helping turn strategy into clear action and follow-through. Key Responsibilities Financial Management Oversee accounting, budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting Maintain accurate financial records Work with the CEO, Treasurer, and Finance Committee on the annual budget Prepare financial reports for leadership and board meetings Ensure timely payment of bills and compliance with financial requirements Business Operations and Asset Management Manage the theatre’s day-to-day business operations Ensure vendor relationships, contracts, renewals, and payments are current Maintain organized records for vendors, services, equipment, and key institutional documents Help ensure the theatre’s building, equipment, supplies, and assets are properly maintained Identify operational needs early and help keep the theatre functioning efficiently Staff Accountability Track organizational goals, deadlines, and staff deliverables Follow up on progress without micromanaging daily work Support clear communication between departments Help staff stay focused on priorities and expectations CEO and Staff Liaison Serve as a go-between for staff and the CEO Keep the CEO informed of progress, challenges, and needed decisions Help translate strategy into action across the organization Qualifications Experience in accounting, finance, or business operations Strong budget management and reporting skills Excellent organization, follow-through, and communication Ability to support staff accountability without overstepping High level of discretion and professionalism Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $44,000 to $52,000 , depending on experience. Benefits and paid time off are available after a three-month introductory period .
