Job Description
Part-Time Position Mandarin Teacher Position Centner Academy, a well- known independent school in South Florida is conducting a search for a Part- Time Mandarin Teacher to join its growing faculty. The school is known for its innovative academic model that blends rigorous academics with a strong focus on emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and global learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language education and committed to creating an engaging, student-centered classroom that encourages curiosity, cultural appreciation, and academic excellence. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging Mandarin language instruction for elementary and/or middle school students. Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to design curriculum that supports 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration . Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and ensure students achieve grade-level learning outcomes. Monitor and track student progress using measurable data and provide clear feedback to students and families. Create a classroom environment that fosters joyful learning, curiosity, and respect . Support students’ social and emotional development through proactive classroom management strategies. Participate in team collaboration, curriculum planning, and faculty meetings. Communicate regularly with parents and participate in parent-teacher conferences regarding student progress. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Teaching, or a related field Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a K-8 educational setting Fluency in Mandarin Chinese with basic conversational English Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Experience using data to guide instruction and student progress Preferred Qualifications Experience with collaborative, discussion-based learning approaches Highly adaptable, resourceful, and committed to professional growth
