Manufacturing Associate Location:McPherson, KSDepartment:ManufacturingLevels:Operator I, Operator III, Process TechnicianCompensation:$18.00-$22.00 per hour shift differential Job Description Summary The Manufacturing Associate plays a critical role in producing high-quality products that support Viega's commitment to excellence in plumbing and heating technology.Depending on level and experience, Manufacturing Associates perform a variety of responsibilities including machine operation, quality checks, troubleshooting equipment, assembly work, and supporting continuous improvement efforts on the production floor.This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, team-driven manufacturing environment.Associates contribute directly to safety, quality, productivity, and overall performance of our manufacturing operations.What You'll Do Responsibilities vary by level, but may include:Operator I Operate basic production machinery or manual equipment safely and accurately Perform visual quality inspections and basic measurement checks Package and label finished products according to specifications Follow standard work procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Report defects, machine issues, or safety concerns to leadership Operator III Set up, operate, and adjust more complex machinery or automated equipment Perform and document in-process quality checks using measurement tools Troubleshoot minor equipment or process issues and assist with root-cause analysis Maintain documentation for production orders, quality checks, and downtime Support cross-training and workflow across multiple stations or machines Process Technician Perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, changeovers, and adjustments Analyze process data to improve efficiency, quality, and machine performance Assist with new product introductions, test runs, and continuous improvement activities Support maintenance teams with minor repairs, rebuilds, or preventive maintenance Train Operators on best practices, standard work, and safety procedures What We're Looking For Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Comfort working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment Willingness to learn machine operation, quality processes, and equipment troubleshooting Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs.(with mechanical assistance as needed), and work in a fast-paced environment Previous manufacturing experience preferred for higher-level roles Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.We Encourage You to Apply Wondering if you should apply?
