Title : Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Location : Winsted, MN Job Type : Permanent/Direct-Hire Compensation : $101,000-$127,000 Annually Industry: Manufacturing About The Role Our firm is partnering with a well-established, U.S.-based manufacturer serving industrial markets to identify a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor. This organization operates in a high-volume production environment with a strong focus on metal fabrication, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This leadership role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who enjoys developing teams, supporting daily manufacturing operations, and driving long-term process improvements that deliver measurable business results. Job Description The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers and programmers while providing direct engineering support to production. This role balances daily operational needs with strategic improvement initiatives, ensuring safe, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing processes for both new and existing products. Key Responsibilities Include Lead, develop, and manage manufacturing engineers and programmers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and accountability Plan, prioritize, and direct engineering activities to support production requirements and continuous improvement goals Provide hands-on engineering support to improve throughput, reduce downtime, and stabilize manufacturing processes Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost using lean manufacturing principles Partner closely with operations leadership to identify, prioritize, and resolve production challenges Oversee the development, implementation, and sustainment of manufacturing processes for new and existing products Support equipment implementation, process validation, and start-up activities to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets Ensure effective execution of standard work, process controls, and documented manufacturing procedures Manage internal and external engineering resources to meet business objectives Support quality systems by participating in root cause investigations and corrective actions related to process performance Review and approve engineering documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards Qualifications Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating manufacturing engineering resources in a production environment Proven ability to build, develop, and hold engineering teams accountable to performance expectations Strong understanding of manufacturing processes; experience in metal fabrication environments is highly desirable Experience applying lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, continuous improvement, and waste reduction Ability to prioritize and manage multiple engineering activities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting Strong problem-solving skills with experience leading root cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective actions Ability to collaborate effectively with operations leadership and influence cross-functional teams Working knowledge of process controls, standard work, and manufacturing documentation Strong project execution skills with a track record of driving initiatives to completion Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization Demonstrated commitment to reinforcing and supporting a strong safety culture Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline Benefits Our partner's benefits include comprehensive health coverage with medical, dental, and vision plans, plus company HSA contributions and flexible spending accounts.
